Privacy policy
This policy explains what the UNF apps for iPhone and Android and unfollowers.io collect, why, who else processes it, and how to remove it. It describes the product as it actually behaves. Where something cannot be promised, this policy says so rather than reassuring you.
What UNF never collects
- Your Instagram password or login session. UNF has no password field, no embedded Instagram login, and no browser extension. It cannot post, follow, unfollow, or change any setting on your account.
- Private Instagram content. UNF reads what Instagram publishes. If a profile is private, the private content stays unavailable and the report says so.
- Who viewed your profile or story. Instagram does not publish this. UNF does not collect it, infer it, or display it.
- What your messages say. Top chats counts your messages on your phone and skips their text, photos, videos and voice notes. See Your stats and UNF Wrapped 2026.
- Your contacts, precise location, health data, or browsing history.
- Your payment card details. Purchases happen inside Apple’s App Store or Google Play. UNF never sees a card number.
What UNF collects, and why

If the file holds more than followers and following, UNF also counts your own activity in it for Your stats and UNF Wrapped 2026: messages, likes, story likes, Reels watched and more. That happens on your phone and nothing from it is uploaded, as described below. |

Your stats and UNF Wrapped 2026
Your stats, Top chats, Stories you like most, Reels you watch most and UNF Wrapped 2026 read more of the Instagram export you add. All of it is worked out on your phone.
- Messages are counted, not read. For each chat, UNF counts the messages, who sent them and when. It skips the text, photos, videos and voice notes, and it never opens message attachments.
- Story likes go back as far as your export does. UNF counts whose stories you liked.
- Reels cover the last 30 days. Instagram’s file of what you viewed lists Reels, not stories, and only for about that long. UNF counts whose Reels you watched in that window. The export has no list of the stories you watched, so UNF never says which ones you did.
- The rest of your stats are counts and dates. Your likes, comments, story answers and polls, saved posts, when you posted, Instagram’s own past insights, your name, username and bio changes, when you joined, your privacy settings and the ad topics Instagram files you under. UNF never opens a photo or video in the export.
- It stays on your phone. It is kept out of iCloud and computer backups, replaced by your next export, and deleted when you remove the profile or delete your account.
- Nothing is uploaded. The counts, the names in them and anything from your messages are never sent to UNF’s servers, never logged in analytics and never sent to the AI provider.
- Names on share cards are your choice. A share card shows names only when you turn them on for that card, and it goes only where you send it.
Tracking
UNF asks for permission to track through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow it, your device’s advertising identifier may be used to attribute an install to an advertising campaign. If you decline, no advertising identifier is collected. Every report, alert and feature behaves identically either way. The Android app does not use the advertising identifier at all.
Who else processes your data
UNF uses a small number of service providers. Each receives only what its job requires.
- Apple — App Store distribution, in-app purchases, Sign in with Apple, and push notification delivery.
- Google — on Android, Google Play distribution, in-app purchases and the optional Google sign-in; and, through Firebase, account identifiers, push message delivery and, only with your consent, crash reporting and usage analytics.
- Cloudflare — serves the API and stores uploaded export files.
- A managed database host — stores your profile selections, dated observations and reports.
- A subscription management provider — reconciles your Apple or Google Play purchase with your entitlement.
- A public-profile data provider — retrieves the public information Instagram publishes about a username.
- An AI provider — when you run Profile Check, it receives the public information about the account you selected: your bio, your public follower, following and post counts, and the captions, cover images and public like and comment counts of your recent posts, or of the single post you chose. Roast my bio, in Studio and in UNF Wrapped 2026, sends only your bio and public counts. Your uploaded export, your follower lists, your stats and your messages are never included. UNF requests that this content is not retained for model training. That request is honoured by the provider’s policy; it is not something UNF can independently guarantee, which is why it is stated here plainly rather than as a promise.
- The same AI provider — when you use Captions & Hashtags, it receives what you typed about your post, the tone you chose, and, when UNF can read them, your profile’s public bio and the caption text of up to five of your recent public posts, so the captions sound like you. No images, follower lists or messages are included, and nothing about any other account.
- Vercel and Google Analytics — measure visits to unfollowers.io. These apply to the website only, not to the app.
Your data is not sold, and it is not shared with advertisers or data brokers.
How long it is kept
Observations and reports are kept while your account exists, because comparing today to an earlier check is the entire point of the product. Uploaded export files are kept so your connection sections continue to work; adding a newer file replaces the comparison basis. Everything is removed when you delete your account.
Deleting your data
Open Settings inside the app and choose to delete your account. This removes your profile selections, observations, imported files, generated reports and stored identifiers. Deletion cannot be undone, and it does not cancel a subscription — cancel an Apple subscription in the App Store, and a Google Play subscription in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions, as described in the terms of use.

Children
UNF is not intended for anyone under 13, and UNF does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, write to support@unfollowers.io and it will be removed.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to stored data is restricted to what the service needs to operate. No service can promise perfect security, and this policy will not pretend otherwise.
International transfers
The providers above operate globally, so your data may be processed in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top changes and the app will tell you. Continuing to use UNF after that means the updated policy applies.
