Child safety standards
The short version. UNF has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Report any concern to support@unfollowers.io. Reports are reviewed promptly and passed to the authorities where the law requires it.
Our standard
UNF prohibits any content or behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses or endangers children, including child sexual abuse material, grooming, sextortion and trafficking. This applies to everything UNF stores or shows, in the UNF apps for iPhone and Android and on unfollowers.io.
How UNF is built
- No user-to-user features. UNF has no messaging, no posting, no comments, no profiles that other people can browse and no way to send anything to another person. People cannot contact each other through UNF.
- Public information and your own data. UNF shows what Instagram publishes about a profile and what is in the Instagram data export you choose to add, for you alone. It never shows private Instagram content.
- Adults. UNF is meant for adults and is not intended for anyone under 13, as described in the privacy policy.
Reporting a concern
If you see anything in UNF that may involve the sexual abuse or exploitation of a child, tell us:
- In the app, open Settings › About › Get support, or
- email support@unfollowers.io with “Child safety” in the subject. Include the Instagram username or the screen involved if you can. Do not attach or forward any abusive images.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. You can also report CSAM directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline or to the INHOPE hotline in your country.
What UNF does with a report
- Every report is reviewed promptly by a person.
- Any material involved is removed from UNF’s systems and the related account is blocked from the service.
- Apparent CSAM is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant regional and national authorities, as the law requires, and UNF cooperates with law enforcement.
- Content from Instagram is also reported to Instagram through its own reporting channels.
